Treebridge Hotel, North East Wedding Photography - Rebecca & Luke

This wedding was a lovely reconnection with friends from years ago as well as an opportunity to shoot wedding photographs in new and interesting venues in the North East. Rebecca is an old school friend of Rebecca’s and they hadn’t seen each other for years but their mums are still in touch. When they got in touch we knew we had to shoot their wedding and we are definitely glad that we did.

NORTH EAST WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Both Rebecca & Luke were getting ready at home and heading over to the church they had chosen. Rebecca was getting ready at their home and Luke was at his parents. Luke loves his watches and Rebecca had bought him a special watch for their wedding day. Luke opening that was one of the first things Rob was able to capture when he arrived, which is a really joyful way to start a day. Luke then went on to pop a bottle of champagne that proceeded to fizz out all over his mam’s kitchen floor! Not ideal, but at least she was good humoured about it.

Meanwhile, Rebecca was getting shots of all the girls getting their makeup and hair done and having a very small amount of drama. A low drama wedding morning is definitely the best way to do it.

The church they were getting married in was St Mary’s church in Nunthorpe. The church is beautiful but the real treat for us is that over the road from the church is a perfect view of Roseberry Topping, definitely one of the most iconic views in the North East. For us to be able to capture wedding photographs with Roseberry Topping in the background without going miles out of our way or stopping halfway between two places was a fantastic opportunity that was were not going to miss.

The church ceremony was typically beautiful. We love a church wedding, it is definitely much more personal and more about the bride and groom and their lives than just about what getting married means. The vicar allowed Rob to move around a lot too and the church was really nicely laid out which means Rob was able to get some really good, interesting angles that we don’t often see in wedding photographs.

Rebecca & Luke had a special treat for us after their ceremony, albeit not specifically for us. They had arranged for their little dachshund to join them for a few photos so she could be a part of the day! We love dogs at weddings, we don’t know if we’ve mentioned that before. If you have a dog and you’re getting married then PLEASE bring them along!

We got the photos with Roseberry Topping in the background and then we set about getting the “Just Married” sign onto the back of Luke’s Porsche. He decided not to drive it with the sign on the back though, just in case it got sucked into the engine. The Treebridge isn’t far from the church so we shot off and met them there for a few photos of them and their guests.

The Treebridge also has a handy dandy view of Roseberry Topping too. It would have been rude not to make the most of that later in the day. We hung out and shot a few silly photos of the groups outside the hotel. It’s always fun to get the groom picked up by the guests, they’re never comfortable but the photographs always look great.

We’re spoiled for choice for amazing wedding venues in the North East that make for amazing wedding photography. The Treebridge Hotel is definitely a great venue that’s got some amazing views of the North East landmarks.
