Let’s get lost in the misty woods ~ embracing a little folklore on your wedding day.
Mel and Joe have a deep love for nature and all things outdoors. They enjoy foraging and are fascinated by local folklore. When it came time for their wedding, they wanted a simple ceremony at their local registry office, surrounded by their loved ones.
Although they didn't want a lot of traditional wedding photos, they were incredibly passionate about capturing the essence of their unique interests. They desired something different and otherworldly, that celebrated their love of 70’s folk horror.
That's where we, as photographers, came in. We understood their vision and were excited to embark on a short adventure with them. Instead of being tied down to a full day event, we met Mel and Joe at the registry office on Halloween weekend, with hours of adventure ahead of us.
First, we captured some beautiful shots of their wedding and group photos, making sure to record this auspicious day for them. But after the formalities were over, we delved into the nearby druid woods to let our creativity run wild.
Mel and Joe had carefully crafted folk masks that embodied a corn doll and the green man. They were a little worried this might have been a step too far into the weird ~ but of course we were absolutely blown away by their creativity and commitment to the creepy vibe.
In the misty woods, we played with smoke grenades and lanterns, creating an eerie and ethereal atmosphere. Every snap of the shutter was an opportunity to capture the raw and magickal essence that surrounded us. It felt like we were alchemists ~ transforming the ordinary into something extraordinary.
Our time with Mel and Joe was an adventure of the soul. We were curious explorers, pushing boundaries to create truly enchanting photos. The atmosphere in the woods was palpable, and we were able to encapsulate it in every image.
