Blakey Ridge is home to one of our favourite pub restaurants, The Lion Inn. It's also on the old line of the Rosedale Railway, which now forms a pretty nice walk! Since we went up to Northumberland last time, we decided to drag Lais and Joe out to our neck of the woods for this shoot and explore the railway a little bit more.
Rosedale Railway once ran across the North York Moors and linked together a few different ironstone mines. It included a heck of a climb that took the trains 3 minutes to get from the bottom to the top! The path the line took is now a walkway that passes around the valley opposite the Lion Inn. It provides some properly amazing views of the moors and we're spoiled for choice for photography spots. We bumped into a landscape photographer, so we had to work around him but we were still able to get some beautiful images of these two stunning people.
Lais and Joe are always amazing to work with and it was so much fun catching up with them again. They're so easy to direct and they're always up for trying some cool, interesting and different things. Joe works in an airsoft/paintball shop so it's super easy for him to get access to smoke bombs so we asked him to bring a few along. We did consider that we might end up getting picked up by a grumpy mountain rescue team who thought we were signalling that we were in trouble. It was only briefly though and we set off smoke bombs anyway! :D
