An earlier start than usual for this wedding at Holdsworth House, Halifax in October this year. We set off with anticipation on the 95 mile drive to the wedding of Katy and Paul, stopping briefly at Wetherby services to grab some breakfast and a cup of coffee. Knowing some of the plans that Katy and Paul had we couldn’t wait to get there and see the guests enjoying themselves. We arrived at the wedding venue to a very warm welcome and settled in for one of the most fun-packed weddings we have been to this year.
The weather was a bit hit and miss but a shower of rain or two never stopped the party, which was in full swing from the moment the wedding guests arrived. Everywhere you looked all you could see was people having a great time. Whether it was building their build-your-own Lego table centres (such an amazing idea btw) or topping up the soft drinks with a bit of something you managed to sneak in (no judgement from us!) it was none-stop all day.
We even got to drag people outside in the dark, and maybe a little bit of drizzle, to get some cool shots of the Bride and Groom surrounded by their friends.
Among the lovely little details at this wedding was a Monopoly inspired table plan that tells the story of the Bride and Groom from meeting right up to the wedding day! Super cute.
It's always lovely to get all the guests into one photograph, even if it means dangling out of an upstairs window with the camera to get it!
Everyone knows we love a great confetti moment!
A great touch for the Groomsmen to personalise a wedding is cufflinks. We loved these comic book hero inspired ones. In case you're wondering, the groom's side are Marvel and the brides side are DC. Super nice detail!
Always looking for excuses to get our couples out in the cold and dark!
Katy and Paul, we had a really amazing day and it was so lovely to see all the lovely details that you had thought to put into your wedding day. It was clear to see how much fun you were both having all day and thank you so much for trusting us when we said to come outside into the dark and drizzle! We hope you had a great party after we left and that you're still smiling now.
Lots of love,
Rob and Rebecca x
Oh! We almost forgot to mention - Holdsworth House has a resident Pest Control Specialist! This is Eric and he's the best. He was an adopted stray and he doesn't move far but you can stroke him. We can confirm, he is very soft.
